EM-XCP is a natural ceramic material that is made using EM-X technology. Used in agricultural and livestock applications with EM-Extended (EM-E), EM-Bokaski (EM-B), EM-Fermented Plant Extract (EM-FPE) and EM-5, EM-XCP is an important addition to enhancing the natural biological processes of rejuvenation and remediation work of Effective Microorganisms.
EMSN suggests for agriculture EM-XCP should be mixed with EM-E and water applied to both plants or ground at 3-4 kilograms/10are/year. In irrigation an approximate dilution of 1 part EM-XCP to 10,000 parts water is sufficient. When there is a serious disease or pest problem, use 1 part EM-XCP to 4 parts EM-E, EM-5, and/or EM-FPE to 2,000-3,000 parts water, applied every 7-10 days until the condition is improved. Then apply every 15-20 days for to prevent future problems. EM-XCP should be used in livestock house bedding at a rate of about 30-50 grams/square meter and when making bokashi, EM-XCP should be included as 0.1-0.2% of the total ingredients.
According to Mr. Nishibuchi, a researcher from Dr. Higa's laboratory at Ryukyus University, when making EM-E and EM-B, use EM-XCP at 0.1% to promote good growth of EM. For foliar applications of EM-FPE, EM-5 and/or EM-E, use EM-XCP at 0.1-0.2%. This promotes healthy plant growth without disease and increases photosynthesis. Application over several years will revive the soil and increase the nutrient content (vitamins and antioxidants) of plants.
EMSN recommends when replacing conventional chemical methods with EM, both methods can be used during the first year of transition. It is possible to decrease chemical use by 50% the second year with a slight increase in EM, and in the third year to completely elimiate chemicals with another increase in EM application. If the chemicals must be eliminated immediately, use as much EM as possible to support the plants or animals through the transition. When EM is applied over a couple of years the soil will revive, increasing the nutrient content (vitamins and antioxidants) of plants.
The June, 2000 Eco Pure Magazine reports that when using EM and EM-XCP for agriculture, two to three years of integrated EM use is necessary to re-balance the soil and reduce damage from disease and pests. Dr. Tureo Higa, discoverer of the combination of naturally occuring microorganisms known as EM, reminded readers that many people, who are accustomed to the chemical approach, expect to see results immediately and can become discouraged. Results with EM also depend on factors such as kinds and amounts of EM, frequency of application, environment, moisture, etc. Remember, if EM is used diligently and holistically, amazing results will be achieved within three years, if not within the first year.
